I got acupunctured.  Literally.  Last Thursday I had Dr. Janean Hamilton on my radio show and she acupunctured me.  And the best thing about it ~it worked!

I quit taking the gabapentin immediately.  YAY!  I plan on getting rid of all my medication.  Dr. Janean has big plans for me.  And I plan on taking her up on her plan!

It’s been busy.  Saturday I had to run to the mall and take over for T.O.T. because her young son got sick.  Poor thing had to get his appendix out  but I think he’s all better now. And how about I got asked for autographs?  OMG, I am really becoming a legend in my own mind..:)

After that I had my two oldest boys with their wives over and we exchanged presents.  I got a salad shooter and some cookies and candy.  That’s like an oxy moron, isn’t it?  LOL.  I eat the cookies and candy now, and then later I’ll make a salad.

This week has been nuts.  Joe has been working late at night, I hardly get to see him.  I’ve been crazy busy trying to get everything that I need done before I leave for Pittsburgh…done!  I must of given Nick our producer 5 or 6 promo’s to do today.

Let’s see…coming up I have Brian Boitano, the Olympic gold medalist, Deborah Gregory, the creator of the Cheetah girls…..Nancy O’Dell from Access Hollywood,  Bob Harper of the Biggest Loser, Denise Austin and more……..

The interviews are going great!  I have never enjoyed anything more!  It’s so much fun to talk with these celebrities and find out that they are just like you and me…they just have more money!…LOL……

I will be doing the HeartBeat Radio for Women New Years Eve Countdown this year…..it should be fun.  Hate to tell you but it’s being recorded…lol…I have to work that morning PLUS be at work on New Years Day…..listen, I’m dedicated but we have to draw the line!

TOMORROW:  after work it’s OFF To PITTSBURGH to see the most wonderful little man in the world.  The only true man in my life, Baby Cameron.  My daughter has to work, so my ex-husband is picking me up from the airport and I am staying for one night at his house.  Which happens to be MY old house.  I’m sleeping with my Baby grandson.  I probably will stay up and smell his neck all night.  Why is it that baby’s necks smell so darn good???

CHRISTMAS EVE:  Probably going food shopping and starting to cook for Christmas.  Also going to visit my nephew Ryan and his wife Carol and Jayme and Caitlyn.  I love them so much!

CHRISTMAS:  Hanging out with my baby boy CAMERON.  ALL DAY LONG. I am also going to watch Kurt Browning from 3-5 on the Improv on Ice show. And I’ll eat Christmas cookies…mmmm….

DAY after CHRISTMAS:  Going out with some of my friends, one for sure is my girlfriend Natalie whom I haven’t seen in ages, but we just pick right up where we left off.  My daughter and her girlfriend may join us at the Firemans Club in Monessen.  Woo hoo…lookout MON VALLEY here I come.

STEELER SUNDAY:  I may be attending the Pittsburgh Steeler - Baltimore Ravens game in Pittsburgh.  Rachael doesn’t want to go, and it’s going to be FREEZING, but what an experience that will be.  Pittburgh is in a MUST WIN situation. I’ll be the one shivering with my black and gold face…that’s right I am getting my face painted again.

MONDAY:  Coming back to Florida in the evening.  Will be exhausted but will have had the very best time with my family.

TUESDAY:  Back to work at Heartbeat Radio for Women bright and early at 7:00 AM.

Jean Chatztky, financial editor of the Today Show my guest this Friday!

Last night I had a wonderful time at the Best of  the Best Awards that English Communications put together.  I sat next to Kelly Smallridge, the executive director of  The Haven, a charity in Leesburg.  Tiffani and her husband was there, too.  We had a good time!

I worked the red carpet with Nick and Mary of  Heartbeat and it was really fun interviewing the guests.  For a minute there, I thought I was Mary Hart of Entertainment tonight…lol.  Mission Inn was where the event was held and it was beautiful.

Last night I went to bed, exhausted, probably because I get up at 5 AM and I am busy all day long…mentally, mostly.  Well I woke up in the middle of the night with a blinding migraine headache.  And my back went out.  Literally.  Thank God Joe was here or I would of never even made it to the bathroom.

I took some pills and woke up to go to work.  Trust me, I did not want to go.  And I ALWAYS want to go to work, I love being on Heartbeat Radio for Women.  But I was hurting, that bad.  I sucked it up and went, and felt better when I got there…although still not ok.

After work I went to a new chiropractor in Leesburg.  Nice guy, and I loved it that he had this special table that all I had to do was stand up and get close to it and it put me down, so I wouldn’t have to work on getting up and down with this bad back.

Needless to say, my back is a mess.  I have sciatica which makes me need to take a certain prescription called gabapentin.  Well the gabapentin is putting a lot of extra weight on me, which in turn is not good for the sciatica.  It’s like a Catch-22.  The doctor felt I should start getting regular massages, and they have a massage therapist there but she will be out all next week for Christmas and she has no appointments for this week.  So I will have to wait.  She only charges $45 an hour and that is phenomenally inexpensive, like half price what most massage therapists charge.

My headache went away with sleep. 

This past week, I had wonderful guests on the show.  A member of  Boys to Men serenaded me with, “I’ll make love to you” I thought I died and went to heaven.  MVP, the WWE wrestler, who I thought would be overly loud and boisterous, was a gentle giant, talking about how he went to Iraq to put a show on for our soldiers.  Dani Johnson was in rare form today, and despite a lot of technical issues, she had a great show.  We had 6 people call in for her.

Friday I will be speaking with Jean Chatzky, financial editor of  the Today show, how cool is that.  Jean is an associate of  John St. Augustine, one of my mentors.  Jean is also on Oprah Radio.

Ok, I need to stop and take it easy.  I think I have been working too hard (?) and I need a little break….it’s so hard for me to slow down…well on Saturday I’ll be cooking Christmas dinner for my oldest sons in Orlando and then next week, I have a lot of great guests…Brian Boitano, Olympic gold medalists….and then I go to visit Baby Cameron for Christmas…..wow, I have a lot going on, I guess.

Dani Johnson and Best Life Barb

WHEW!  I just got in from an amazing seminar with Dani Johnson called Creating a Dynasty.  This was a present from my best friend, Charlotte.  What a great present it was!

Dani Johnson is an absolute MASTER in teaching communication skills.  I learned so much. 

The dynamics in most workplaces are the same.  Or in your daily life.  I learned how to deal with difficult people.  I learned how to forgive people when they have been real jerks to me.  I learned that many people are insecure and harbor many insecurities as jealousy, envy and greed.  There are also good people in this world!  MANY!  People that have your back at all times.  I met so many of those people this weekend!

I must say the spiritual equipping segment of the seminar was a big MUCH for me.  Maybe because it was the first time for me.  It was truly powerful for many. 

One thing that I realized is that I work way too much.   I have to stop doing that.  I have such drive and enthusiasm for Heartbeat Radio for Women.  We have such a great radio station with great guests.  BUT I worry about it 24/7 and I need to stop that. 

Dani says:  GOD first, SPOUSE second, CHILDREN, third and WORK fourth.  Well, since I don’t have a spouse, I guess I only have three….lol…so Joe and me need to get married QUICK!!!!  I am learning how to pray better and I think that is very good, I love my children with all of my heart…need to spend more time with them…..and Baby Cameron…..and then do my work with the spirit of excellence. 

So I am happy with what I learned at Creating a Dynasty.  I met so many nice people who will be listening to Dani this week on Wednesday.  Especially a lot from California!  Also Canada!

I got to see Alex, Charlotte’s daughter which was wonderful for me.  Kiran came on Saturday night to meet with Dani and Jenn Taggart, her assistant.  I am happy that meeting took place.

Kiran looks phenomenal, lost weight, and she wasn’t even fat in one place.  Kiran will be in for the next few days only!  But I think with the skills I have learned, I will be just fine..:)

On Thursday before Dani Johnson, our office went to a Christmas party for the Leesburg Chamber of Commerce and we won the best new business for the year!  How cool was THAT!  We had to go to the party in pajamas.  I looked silly, Kiran looked very professional in her pajamas….:)

It was a good party and I’m looking forward to the Best of the BEST event coming up on the 15th and we also have a mall appearance on the 12th.  Busy!  But loving it!

Time to go get ready for a busy week……
