Kiku...my wonderful Kiku..:)
What a great day I had yesterday! My voice worked….not back 100 per cent…maybe like 85%???? I was able to do my job at the radio station. We were busy, yesterday! Between all the interviews I did…then commercial work….it was hectic! But I like hectic!
When I got home from work, it was MOVING day….Stuart and Rich almost had it all done and sweet Joe had a lot of things taken care of earlier. Moving the furniture was not the problem…it was moving the CATS that was the problem..or maybe I could say…it was like a sit-com.
While we were moving, we put the cats in one of the back bedrooms to wait until all were gone. We had cat carriers, so should be no problem, right??? wrong!
Oh, Sassy and Kizzy pretty much cooperated, but my wonderful Kiku….did not. He hid, he scratched, he freaked out. So finally I said the Hell with the cat carrier, I am just going to throw him in the truck and hurry up and close the door. And that is what I did. My truck….has fold down seats….so we put the two cats that were in the carrier in there, had Spunky in there and of course we had to take the litter box.
Joe and I hadn’t eaten all day, so we called for take out at Tony’s Pizza Kitchen. I had to pick it up, so I had to be REAL CAREFUL that Kiku would not jump out of the truck. That took SKILL on my part! Kiku was pacing back and forth in the truck, panting, I guess having an all out anxiety attack.
Ok so I managed to get back into the truck with the food, and without Kiku escaping. So here we are off!! Only 6 miles to our new home! We are tired, hungry and just want to get the cats out of the truck.
The cats in the carriers are all sliding around, the litter box is too, and poor Spunky couldn’t get his footing on the seats that were folded down so he is sliding all around, too. I can’t help him because I’m holding the food and Joe is driving.
Oh no! Joe said we don’t have milk, and we need milk! So it was Joe’s turn to stop and jump out of the truck to get the milk at the nearest 7-11.
A few minutes of peace…or so I thought.
You know it was too quiet….Kiku wasn’t meowing incessantly and I heard nothing. For a few seconds, anyhow, and then…..I heard scratching…
Kiku was taking a dump in the litter box! ARE YOU KIDDING ME KIKU????!!!
So needless to say the truck didn’t smell all fresh and rosy when Joe opened the door.
First thing out of Joe’s mouth is…Honey, do you have gas?
I sighed and said, yeah Joe, let’s go home, ok????
We made it to our new home in about 2 minutes flat.
all the BEST,
Best life Barb
