Kiku...my wonderful Kiku..:)

Kiku...my wonderful Kiku..:)

What a great day I had yesterday!  My voice worked….not back 100 per cent…maybe like 85%????  I was able to do my job at the radio station.  We were busy, yesterday!  Between all the interviews I did…then commercial work….it was hectic!  But I like hectic!

When I got home from work, it was MOVING day….Stuart and Rich almost had it all done and sweet Joe had a lot of things taken care of earlier.  Moving the furniture was not the problem…it was moving the CATS that was the problem..or maybe I could say…it was like a sit-com.

While we were moving, we put the cats in one of the back bedrooms to wait until all were gone.  We had cat carriers, so should be no problem, right???  wrong!

Oh, Sassy and Kizzy pretty much cooperated, but my wonderful Kiku….did not.  He hid, he scratched, he freaked out.  So finally I said the Hell with the cat carrier, I am just going to throw him in the truck and hurry up and close the door.  And that is what I did.  My truck….has fold down seats….so we put the two cats that were in the carrier in there, had Spunky in there and of course we had to take the litter box.

Joe and I hadn’t eaten all day, so we called for take out at Tony’s Pizza Kitchen.  I had to pick it up, so I had to be REAL CAREFUL that Kiku would not jump out of the truck.  That took SKILL on my part!  Kiku was pacing back and forth in the truck, panting, I guess having an all out anxiety attack.

Ok so I managed to get back into the truck with the food, and without Kiku escaping.  So here we are off!!  Only 6 miles to our new home!  We are tired, hungry and just want to get the cats out of the truck.

The cats in the carriers are all sliding around, the litter box is too, and poor Spunky couldn’t get his footing on the seats that were folded down so he is sliding all around, too.  I can’t help him because I’m holding the food and Joe is driving.

Oh no!  Joe said we don’t have milk, and we need milk!  So it was Joe’s turn to stop and jump out of the truck to get the milk at the nearest 7-11.

A few minutes of peace…or so I thought.

You know it was too quiet….Kiku wasn’t meowing incessantly and I heard nothing.  For a few seconds, anyhow,  and then…..I heard scratching…

Kiku was taking a dump in the litter box!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME KIKU????!!!

So needless to say the truck didn’t smell all fresh and rosy when Joe opened the door.

First thing out of Joe’s mouth is…Honey, do you have gas?

I sighed and said, yeah Joe, let’s go home, ok????

We made it to our new home in about 2 minutes flat.

Nick's friend Charlie and me at the Expo at Lake Sumter

Nick's friend Charlie and me at the Expo at Lake Sumter

Well I did it alright!  I over-talked! No actually, I have pharagytis, which is an infection of the larynx, vocal chords and throat.

Yesterday was the day from Hell!  The buttons weren’t working on the radio board, and when I did push one, something crazy would happen!  Thank goodness that Mary, our admin, and Nick our producer were able to jump in and help me.  TOT was really sick with strep throat…yikes!  And we use the same microphone!!!

Today is much better because I have got my prescriptions all filled.  Yesterday I went to a sales appointment at the chiropractors and she acunpunctured me and adjusted me and I felt great.  Then I went to Dr. Clay and had a fit because the medicine he put me on has “edema” listed as a side effect.  In layman’s terms that means I gained 14 pounds in the last couple of weeks.  FOURTEEN….holy cow!  My rings are tight, my shoes are tight and my blood pressure was up big time!

Do you remember in GHOSTBUSTERS, the jiffy Marshmallow man float?  That’s what I feel like.  I feel like if you stuck a pin in me all kinds of water would rush out.  My luck is that it will decide that it likes it in my body and want to stay…..oh well, Dr. Clay gave me a prescription of LASIX, so I’ll be peeing a LOT.

Work is great, except for a few days I haven’t been able to talk…the day before yesterday, I just had this sexy, throaty voice going on…then…yesterday…I squeaked like an old door hinge.  So our admin, Mary took over.  She is a sweetheart.

Not to mention, yesterday I made some hot tea and I burned my tongue on it!  I’m telling you, yesterday was Hell day.  Today is much better and I think that tomorrow will be the BEST!

My name is Best Life Barb, isn’t it?

Here we go again….

This is definitely more, ah....ME...:)

This is definitely more, ah....ME...:)

I have had to move for plenty of reasons……money, job, kids, but I never had to move because of water.  Yep, I’m moving because of the water.

It is well water and it smells HORRIBLE.  Like rotten eggs or really bad breath or a dog’s really bad breath.  So by next week I will be living in another house and I can’t wait.

I cannot imagine what bacteria is thriving on my body when I shower in this putrid, stenchy water.

My clothes do not smell fresh and bright…and I just do not like this at all.

So here we go again!  So that takes care of a lot.

Heartbeat Radio for Women is going great!  My schedule is filled and my guests are very interesting.  I love, love, love working there! This week coming up I have Alison Sweeney from Days of our Lives and The Biggest Loser…..Last week I had Rudy Ruettiger….I’m learning more and more each day.  Kiran should be coming soon….whew…that will be wonderful!  I miss her.

The baby is doing fine, my job is great, Joe and I are getting along wonderful and I’m getting new water….life is grand!  The only thing that  I have to take care of  is this sciatica…my leg is killing me!  I will need to call a doctor soon…I may call that new chiropractor Rayna she seems awesome.

Oh and one more thing…I have to thank the “successful thinkers” group in California.  They had me as a guest speaker on Saturday and they said I inspired many….how cool is THAT!  Thanks so much!!

I have finally found my TRUE LOVE.

049

You bet it’s Cameron!  He is here! YAY!  I am so happy to have him here with me.  Rachael and Aaron made it here safely.  It was Aaron’s very first airplane flight and was he ever scared, but he did it!

My sweetheart and I took them all to Daytona Beach last weekend.  Cameron loved the sand and the beach.  He would of stayed there all day and night.  Such a good baby he is! He hardly ever cries.

We have been having a ton of fun.  Right now Rachael and Aaron are playing the Wii and I am getting ready for bed.  I have been having a problem with my left leg….come to find out from Dr. Clay that I have sciatica…and a herniated disc in my back that is completely “blown out”.

I have to take medication for the pain and I don’t like the way it messes with my mind, however it does help the pain.  I just ordered new health insurance ($464 A MONTH!) and I have to wait 90 days to go to a specialist.  I hope I don’t need surgery, because that would take me out of commission for a few weeks and I can’t do that, now.

The radio show is going GREAT!  I miss Kiran terribly, I love it when she is here!  But we are a nice little team, Tiff, Mary, Nick and I!…..I think that we have the best thing going!

Ok I have to get going and get some sleep….I will try to write more, soon.

Growing Pains

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

cameron1rudy

Things are just great at Heartbeat Radio for Women!  We had some staff changes and everything is working out great!  I have to say that our new admin Mary is amazing.  So nice, so professional, so helpful!  I’m so glad she is with us.

I guess every company has growing pains, and I’m sure that is what we have experienced.  The other growing pains I am talking about is ME.

I think I’ve gained a million pounds and I don’t feel well.  Why is it so easy to gain and so hard to lose???? My left leg is throbbing every night.  I have allergies.  I am having digestive difficulties.  But I’m alive, I’m breathing, I’m happy in my work and my personal life, so who am I to complain?

Gaining weight is TRUE growing pains.

Oh great news!  Rachael and Aaron and Baby Cameron are coming for a long visit.  Now Aaron has never flown on a plane so he is scared to death.  Baby Cameron is now 10 months old and the last time he flew he was only 3 months old. He may be a handful on the plane.  But so what…I am thrilled to pieces.  I can’t wait to spend time with my family.  I love my kids so much (including LONI) and I really love my grandbaby.  He is truly my true love.

I have been having GREAT guests on the show.  I have Sweet Lou doing a weekly, Monday Morning Quarterback show…I have celebrities from the Biggest Loser and ta da….I will have RUDY on soon!  I have seen the movie a million times and I get inspired every time I watch it…now I get to interview the person who is portrayed in the movie.

I sure do live a wonderful life, don’t I!

Until next time,

all the BEST,

Best Life Barb
