Best Life Brittany will someday take over my job!

Best Life Brittany will someday take over my job!

Another busy day!  With 3 interviews and tons of work to do, I didn’t think anything or anyone would get my mind off of all that I have to do. House, kids, grandson, b/f, bff’s, interviews, emails, blah, blah, blah.

Well someone did.  A little 10 year old darling named Brittany.  I had an interview with the social worker, Margot, from Forever Families.  Forever Families does home studies for families wanting to adopt.  It just so happened that this little girl named Brittany happened to be born to a couple who just weren’t able to take care of her.  Her aunt stepped in to help, but was quickly overwhelmed.  That is when a teacher, Brittany’s second grade teacher, decided to become a Mom to Brittany and is in the process of adopting her.

Miss Kathleen couldn’t have kids of her own.  Sometimes God will bless you in other ways…and He certainly did by putting Brittany into her life.  Miss Kathleen is thrilled to be a Mom and Grandma Laney is overjoyed.  Thanks Margot, for going the extra mile to help put that angel in good hands!

Brittany was so good on the air today, I’m calling her Best Life Brittany….she will take over for me in a couple of years maybe….:)  God Bless her!

On to other matters~I know,  you won’t believe this but I’m moving again.  I just can’t take it here, I call it the Stepford Cemetery….my poor cats want out and when I walk my dog, I see practically NO ONE but I do see all the curtains and blinds moving in all the houses.  I found a nice little 3 bedroom house much closer to my work, plus they don’t mind me having my outdoor kitties.  I was blessed to meet a very nice couple named Amanda and Elton and I rented their house.  I move on Saturday.  Today is Wednesday.  I will do it, don’t ask me how but I will.

Charlotte told me that God wants me to downsize some more, so I’ll do it.  I’m going to get rid of stuff that I don’t need.  If I haven’t worn it or used it within the last 6 months…it’s going…going …GONE.  I’m not waiting to fit into anything or to fix anything.  I’m just getting rid of all the things I don’t need, so that God can put more of the things that I DO need into my life.

I haven’t been feeling well in the last few days.  I think I need a vacation to TRINIDAD or something.  I miss the baby terribly, did I tell you that my grandson Baby Cameron has 2 teeth now?  I am so worried that he will grow up not knowing me enough.  I love him dearly.  I have so much work to do with the radio station…just so much to do…and now that I’ll be living SIX minutes away, it will be a lot easier!  I’ll be able to go home, take Spunky out to pee and then come back to do some more! Or maybe I’ll just bring Spunky with me…:)  He can be the Heartbeat Dog…:)

Tomorrow I will be interviewing the casting producer from the Biggest Loser, The Leesburg Lightening, and Charlotte plus I will learn how to find love in 90 days.  Best Friend Barb is doing a BANG UP JOB and Time Out Tiffani is really coming along.  People love her enthusiasm.  I just need to buy her a couple of turtlenecks!!! LOL

all the BEST,

Building bridges.

Sisterhood is alive and well in the world!  It seems like Heartbeat Radio for Women is getting approached every day to build an alliance with other women based companies.

How exciting is that!  I had a great conversation this weekend with Tiffany James.  Tiffany is the founder of UndercoverWear Lingerie Inc.  Years ago when I was a lot younger and a lot broker I sold lingerie at home parties.  I loved it!  I worked a few nights a week and made some very nice money.  It got me out of the house away from those four little buggers that I had, and it was my introduction on how to run a business.

With UndercoverWear, I earned free jewels, a mink coat and a trip to Rio de Janerio and Hawaii.  It made me feel good about myself, like I was really achieving something and that I was good at something besides being a Mom.

Tiffany would like to work with us and I’m hoping that we build an alliance with her.  I think she’s just divine, quite honestly.

I have been doing a lot more interviews.  Today one of my guests from Hollywood told me that she read my bio and was quite impressed.  My interview from Orlando said the same thing and another the other day from Arizona.  How cool is THAT!  They are reading about me…Best Life Barb..I feel so blessed.

I was thinking a lot about my little step daughter Loni today.  Someone that I spoke to today told me that she has moved out of the country to Honduras with her father.  I ended up writing a short note to my ex-husbands current wife…hoping that she would give me some insight on how Loni is doing.  Unfortunately I will probably not hear from her, she is probably not allowed to give me any information about Loni.  I love that kid so much and I am praying that she will be ok.  I fear that she will not.  I feel no ill will toward my exes wife…actually I feel sorry for her, and I’m not being facetious, I’m being serious.  I know what it’s like to be married to that man and it is not easy.  I am hoping to build a caring, motherly, friendship with her only for Loni’s sake.  That alliance will never take place, but you can’t fault me for trying.  I haven’t seen Loni in over 3 years, a punishment that I should of never recieved.  But on to more positive things!!!

I don’t know if I mentioned yet that my car was hit by a baseball at the Lightening game.  It is costing $500 to fix it, but good news!  I have only a $50 deductible.  Whew!  Next week, Bruce Erickson and Frank Viola will be coming in for an interview with some of the players so I am sure to tell them about my car…and maybe I will get a free hot dog at the game next week!  Oh and I will be throwing out the first ball next Monday at the Lightening game…I will need to practice!  The Lightening organization is so nice…that’s a great alliance…Heartbeat Radio for Women and Lightening Baseball!  Love it!!

Ok time to go to bed and get ready to interview the “guncles” tomorrow, Bill and Scout from Tori and Dean, Home Sweet Hollywood.  I love that show!  I wish we could get Tori for an interview, that would really be great.

Through HeartBeat Radio for Women, I’m building new friendships, I’m building self esteem and I’m building bridges all over the world…and I just love it more than you will ever know!

Take me out to the ball game…

0111012013

Tonight was Bark at the Park for the Leesburg Lightening.  Best Friend Barb and I went to the game,  and worked our butts off!  There were over 900 people there and 17 dogs.  We handed out all the red nail files and pens and bubbles and we also gave doggies some treats.

Time out Tiffani came a little later and worked the crowd that we missed, although we didn’t miss many!  We were good luck because the Lightening won!

But I have to tell you that the very best part of the game was when I sang Take me out to the Ball game at the seventh inning stretch!  That was so much fun!

Frank Viola, the manager of the Lightening told Best Friend Barb while I was singing that “she’ll own the whole park by the end of the summer!”  That is so funny!  Check out the pictures we got, they are awesome….

until next time,

BLB and BFB at the Beacon College Gala

What a busy day today was!  But also such an exciting day, too.  I interviewed Susan Powter from the STOP THE INSANITY fame…that was early 90’s but I was SOOOO into watching her show.

Susan and I got along famously, like we were best girlfriends….:)  Actually, she is the same age as me and you would never know it.  She said that there are 4 things you need to do to lose weight…..EAT, BREATHE, MOVE and THINK.  She also told me to throw away my Jenny Craig dinners.

I am interviewing so many people that it’s starting to become second nature to me.  I’m getting more “celebrity” interviews.  I like that!  Barbara Walters, here I come!

Tonight the Pittsburgh Penguins will be playing for the Stanley Cup.  Also the Orlando Magic are in the NBA finals.  I think that is pretty exciting.

Best Friend Barb is doing a phenomenal job in the office.  She can multi-task, which is a very valuable asset.  Plus she can put up with me and we all know that is the hard part!  I don’t consider myself difficult, I just consider myself a stickler when it comes to doing thing correctly.  First impressions really matter!

Tomorrow is Bark at the Park…Leesburg Lightning Game PLUS bubbles for the kiddies and dog biscuits for the doggies.  Best Friend Barb and I will be there to represent Heartbeat Radio for Women and Time Out Tiffani may bring her hubby and two boys.  How cool is THAT!

Ok, I have to run…so much to do…so little time…but LOVIN it all the way!

all the BEST,

Striker and Best Life Barb

Today is Sunday and what a great weekend I have had!   On Friday I had a blast at work….a few more great interviews!  I especially enjoyed the interview with the Leesburg Lightning’s General Manager and coach:  Bruce Erickson and Frank Viola.  What a blast they were.  Just fun people.  Frank is a former major leaguer (15 years) and he is one tall drink of water.  6′ 4′ and very jovial.  I love him!  He is coaching the Leesburg Lightning, the local baseball team. More about them in a minute….

On Saturday, Joe and I went to the Flea Market, then to the store.  We watched the Penguins get totally crushed.  But it aint over until the fat lady sings!  Oh and I woke up at 1:30 AM gasping for breath.  Joe thinks I may have sleep apnea and it scared me to death.  I have to start exercising and getting some of the extra weight off.  Tracy from Cardiofit –here I come!

I made homemade spaghetti sauce with meatballs today.  I also made a strawberry pie.  So much for that extra weight coming off…:)  But I bet if I exercise, I will feel so much better…did I say..Tracy from Cardio fit, here I come???

Joe and I just got back from the Lightening game, we had such a great time.  I met a lot of the residents of Leesburg.  I was very impressed by the spirit that was shown by our townspeople!  I can’t wait to throw out the first pitch on June 22nd and July 21st.  I better practice!  Joe has lots of experience with baseball so he is going to teach me how to pitch.

This Wednesday it’s going to be Bark at the Park, so I am going to bring my dog Spunky to have some fun.  There will be some dogs up for adoption, plus a vet on hand.  Best Friend Barb will be staying at my house, so I just bet she will want to be there, too.

Heartbeat Radio for Women is out in the community making our mark.  Oh and we are just getting started!  How exciting this all is for me…I am so happy and just loving life!

all the BEST,

Kiran, the real heart of Heartbeat Radio for Women

Kiran, the real heart of Heartbeat Radio for Women

On an average day, I interview 3 guests.  And the interviews are getting better.  Learning to interview well is something that has been on my bucket list.  It seems like the more I do it, the better I’m doing it.  It suits me well.  I like to learn about other people, what they do, how they live, what interests them.

Our team is growing.  It seems like we have outgrown our office.  But it is cozy.  For the most part, everything is running smooth.  It would be great if Kiran were here, but she has 4 other companies and a small child to take care of.  I adore her, we really do click. We think alike.  She has a fire in her belly and I have had one in mine for years. Kiran truly inspires me every single day.

The shift change from 9 am to 7 am has been something that my body has not acclamated to.  It seems like just when I am getting some good sleep, the alarm goes off.  But once I am up, I get energized by the thought of getting to work.  I don’t have to go to work, I get to go to work.  A big difference.

I wish I was 20 years younger starting this.  If I were 32,  I would have a lot more energy.  But then again, I would have four small ones to take care of….how I did that, I will never know!  But thank goodness that they all turned out to be very good kids. Oh and don’t forget my darling baby boy Cameron….oh I miss him so!  Rachael told me he is crawling all over the place…I hope to see him on a weekend soon.

It seems like there is so much to do.  I have so many ideas, so many directions I would like to go with Heartbeat.  It is in my blood, now.  My goal is to get good,  no GREAT interviews with people that my audience would want to hear.  Do you hear that, George Clooney?  My audience wants you to do an interview with me!  Could you call my assistant, Best Friend Barb?  Her number is 352-728-1410.  Come on George, I’m serious!

Joe came to visit me this past weekend.  He moved  out of a miserable situation and now lives in St. Pete.  We had a blast, so much fun.  We like the same things and that is important.  He wants to marry me but I’m taking it S L O W.  No hurry at all.  We are enjoying each other.  And that is divine…:)

I miss Sweet Lou.  He called me today and is doing well.  I think that Sweet Lou and I will be speaking to each other every few days for the rest of our lives.  He is one of my very best friends.  I love him dearly.

Another busy day tomorrow.  Only two interviews but I do have an event to go to with Best Friend Barb.  We are going to a Lightning Baseball game and it should be fun unless it’s too hot….:)  Best Friend Barb is doing a phenomenal job for me.  She is decisive, smart and efficient.  I couldn’t ask for a better assistant.  Kudos to you, Miss Best Friend Barb!

Ok, I’m yawning so I need to go.  Don’t forget to tune in!  That’s WRHB 1410 AM radio or heartbeatradiousa.com.

all the BEST,

Best Life Barb
